Flooding in Mexico affects over 300,000
Friday, November 2, 2007
Tabasco, Mexico
A week of heavy rains caused rivers to overflow, leaving 70 percent of Tabasco, Mexico underwater, forcing thousands to flee.
As of November 2, the number of people reported stranded was 300,000. According to Fox News, at least one person has died. Concern has also been expressed by Mexico’s deputy health secretary that outbreaks of cholera and other waterborne diseases may occur.
Prayer is requested for the people in the Gulf state of Tabasco as the water recedes and they return to their damaged homes.
Information concerning Nazarene churches will be updated as news is received.
