2008 USA/Canada Easter attendance reports released

The Sunday School and Discipleship Ministries International (SDMI) Department has released the 2008 Easter attendance report. The report reveals that 707,785 people attended Easter services at Nazarene congregations in the U.S. and Canada.

The 2007 report stated 738,927 people attended Easter services at USA/Canada Nazarene congregations.

These figures reflect resurrection services but do not include Good Friday or other Holy Week activities.

Included in the 2008 report is a list of Nazarene congregations in the U.S. topping 1,000 or more for Easter attendance. The 2008 report reveals 62 Nazarene churches reporting at least 1,000 in attendance on Easter.

The churches with the highest Easter attendance for 2008 were Central Ohio’s Grove City church (4,453), Los Angeles’s Pismo Beach New Life Community (4,360), and Kansas City’s Olathe College church (3,996).

This report was compiled from the 76-percent of churches in the USA/Canada Region which submitted Easter attendance statistics to the SDMI office. 2007 figures were used for churches not reporting in 2008.
