In anticipation of a new Web-based mission magazine for the Church of the Nazarene, Nazarenes globally are invited to submit ideas for the magazine's name.

The publication-set to launch in early 2009-will feature articles and stories on a variety of mission-related topics, as well as tell the stories of real people involved in mission.

Ideas for short titles may be sent to wm-web-mag@nazarene.org, or, in the U.S., submitted by calling editor Gina Pottenger at 913-577-2975. The editorial team may use one or combine several suggestions that match the magazine's mission and style. The deadline is December 31, 2008, at midnight, Central Standard Time.

In keeping with a strong grassroots flavor, Nazarenes globally will be able to register as contributors and write their own mission stories, post pictures of their mission experiences, share personal essays on mission, and comment on others' stories. Essentially, readers will have a role in shaping the magazine.

Through this new publication, readers will be able to connect with and encourage brothers and sisters around the world who share a passion for fulfilling God's mission for the world.

Editors want grassroots involvement in the magazine from the very beginning, starting with the new publication's name. An invitation to Nazarenes around the world to submit name suggestions is being issued to a number of Web sites, such as nazareneworldmission.org, nazarenemissions.org, and to Web sites and newsletters in each world region.

The magazine will feature some content in a variety of languages spoken by many Nazarenes.

"We are looking for words in your language that evoke the concepts of mission, of passion, of partnership in something larger than ourselves," says Pottenger. "It may capture God's desire to draw all peoples and all nations to himself through the sacrificial abandonment of His people to the mission."
