Cancelled: NDR Disaster Preparedness Training to be offered in Indiana

The NDR Disaster Preparedness Training for February 21, 2009, in Indianapolis, Indiana has been cancelled. It will be rescheduled at a future time.

Nazarene Disaster Response (NDR) will be hosting special seminars on Disaster Preparedness Training on February 21 at the Southport Church of the Nazarene in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The class includes:

Emergency Response Training
CARE (Caring As a Response to Emergencies) Team Training
Local Church Disaster Teams

These courses will prepare individuals to be deployed in a variety of NDR disaster situations. Individuals will learn multiple skills that will equip them to be utilized as NDR disaster volunteers. These courses will also train individuals how to immediately respond to disasters in their own communities.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security is now mandating all volunteers be trained before they can assist in a disaster relief operation. These courses will provide the tools needed to become a disaster volunteer for Nazarene Disaster Response.

Instructor: Steve Creech
Creech is an ordained minister, volunteer chaplain, North Carolina certified EMT-Paramedic/Training officer, certified in Emergency Management/Public Safety training, certified Field Traumatologist, and was a police officer for eight years. Using his 10 years experience as a NDR disaster director and advisor for churches and districts in 13 states and his experience as executive director and station manager for the American Red Cross, Creech serves as the national director of Nazarene Disaster Response.

Note: Neither CEUs nor CCEs are offered for these three courses.

Saturday Class: $30
Saturday Lunch: $8

Meals: Lunch for Saturday will be served at Southport Church of the Nazarene's Family Life Center

Housing: Housing will not be provided.
