Marguerite Helene (Mann) Nielson, wife of European Nazarene College (EuNC, then ENBC) founding rector John B. Nielson, passed away in February at 92 years of age.

The Nielsons begin their work founding the college in 1965. Their first months were spent renovating the main building, gathering a faculty, and establishing educational and social guidelines for the Bible College. As this was the first full attempt by the Church of the Nazarene to do intentionally multi-cultural education, there were no books or guidelines on how to work with such diverse cultures and languages in a group. Thus, they discovered their path as they progressed.

One of the Nielson's sons remembers their dad used to remark that ENBC would never have existed without Marguerite's work helping the students learn English. She has had a lasting impact on the lives of the students whom she served, and she lived a life worthy of remembrance for her gentle spirit, the twinkle in her eye, her courage, her abiding love, and her deep faith in God.

Please remember the Nielson family in your prayers during this difficult time.
