Trevecca Nazarene University has announced the hiring of Danny Leavy as the fourth men's soccer coach in the program's history. After serving as Trevecca men's soccer coach for five seasons, Jeff Carr has accepted an administrative position at Brevard Community College in Titusville, Florida.

Leavy's coaching experience includes a head coaching stop at Cincinnati (Ohio) Christian University from 2000-2002. There, he was named the NCCAA Division II Mid-East Regional Coach of the Year after leading his team to the NCCAA D-II Mid-East Regional Championship and a NCCAA D-II No. 8 final ranking. He was an assistant at Muskingum College from 2002-2006 before being starting the men's soccer program at Ohio Christian University in 2006.

From 2007-2008 he served as the director of coaching at Pride Soccer Club in Colorado Springs, Colorado, overseeing 30 teams. His latest venture is serving as director of On Goal Ministries in Cincinnati. In addition to his collegiate coaching experience, he has a wealth of club team coaching experience.

Leavy graduated from Trinity International (Chicago) in 2000 with a bachelor of arts degree in Christian ministries. He earned his masters of arts in education from Muskingum College (Ohio) in 2005. Additionally, he is credited with a National Diploma from the NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches Association of America), and an Advanced National Diploma from (NSCAA), and a Fitness in Football (soccer) Level 1 accreditation from English FA.

He played collegiately at NCAA D-II Colorado Christian University and NAIA Trinity International University.

"It is an honor for me to be selected as the new head men's soccer coach at Trevecca," said Leavy. "I am thankful to [Trevecca President Dan] Boone and [Trevecca Athletic Director Brenda] Patterson for offering me this position. This great privilege, to coach and teach at such a well respected Christian university, offers me an opportunity to continue sharing my passion for the game of soccer and to integrate my faith into this sport. We plan to move forward with the great work already provided to this relatively new program by Coach Jeff Carr. Our hope is to build upon his labor over the last five years and to build a team that competes for the conference championship every season. If we do that, we know we'll be a nationally recognized program."

Patterson said, "I am very excited to have Danny as our new men's soccer coach. Danny understands the importance of having an athletic program that embraces the mission of the University. Danny's coaching and playing experiences coupled with his energy level will help him build on the foundation that Coach Carr has established."

Trevecca had a men's soccer program for one season during the 1991-1992 school year. Jon Curtis coached the team that season. Trevecca hired Stan Herod to bring back men's soccer for the 2000-2001 school year. Herod led the program for four seasons prior to Jeff Carr.
