A first for children's quizzing

A new partnership involving Global Nazarene Publications, Children's Ministries International, and Nazarene Publishing House will produce the first-ever simultaneous global release of current children's quizzing material in English, French, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish. Historically, the translation, editing, printing, and distribution of the non-English language versions of other resources has taken several months to accomplish, resulting in the non-English language programs running a year behind the English programs.

Following discussions with regional personnel expressing a need for more immediate access to current quizzing materials, Children's Ministries International designated the 2009 Vacation Bible School Offerings to be used for the translation and cultural adaptation of the quizzing materials for one complete six-year cycle. Nazarene Publishing House is assisting by caring for the necessary copyright issues and providing the materials for translation prior to the release of the English program. Global Nazarene Publications will secure the necessary translators and administer the joint venture. As a result, the five language versions will be produced simultaneously, beginning in January of 2010 with the release of Children's Bible Studies in 1st and 2nd Samuel.

The ultimate objective of the partnership is to increase the study of God's Word among children of all languages, to help children know the God of the Bible, and to encourage more global participation in the Children's World Quiz, which is conducted each quadrennium during the General Assembly and Conventions.
