The following is a weekly listing of Nazarene ministers and leaders who have recently gone home to be with the Lord. Notices were received from January 25-29, 2010.

Doris Airhart of Calgary, Alberta, passed away January 22. She was the widow of Dr. Arnold E. Airhart, a retired minister and educator in the Church of the Nazarene who served in Saskatchewan, Ontario, and Colorado. Dr. Arnold E. Airhart passed away in 2006.

Myrtle Jenkins of Roseville, California, passed away November 4. She was the wife of Kenneth L. Jenkins, a retired minister in the Church of the Nazarene who served in California, Idaho, and New Mexico.

Melvin K. Johnson, 82, of Maxwell, Nebraska, passed away January 25. He was a retired minister in the Church of the Nazarene, serving in Wisconsin, Nebraska, and Kansas. He is survived by his wife, Olive Johnson.

Eloise D. Knippers of Seal Beach, California, passed away January 12. She was the widow of Dr. Cecil C. Knippers, a former district superintendent, pastor, educator, and evangelist in the Church of the Nazarene who served in Arkansas, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Hawaii, Washington, and Louisiana. He served as district superintendent in Mississippi (1938-1949) and Hawaii (1951-1959). Dr. Cecil C. Kippers passed away in 2001.

Dr. Wendell O. Paris, 92, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away January 25. He was a retired minister in the Church of the Nazarene, serving as a pastor in Kansas and Missouri and as district superintendent of Southeast Oklahoma (1972-1987). He is survived by his wife, Bonnie L. Paris. (Story)

Carol C. Pounds, 88, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away January 22. She was the wife of Dr. Floyd H. Pounds, a retired minister in the Church of the Nazarene who served as a pastor in Wisconsin and Illinois before becoming the superintendent of the Northwestern Illinois District (1968-1990). Carol served Nazarene Missions International (NMI) as a local and district NMI president (Northwestern Illinois), Global NMI Council member, and the 1989 Global NMI Convention coordinator. She volunteered in the NMI office many times over the years, and according to NMI, her expertise, love, and prayers for missions were greatly appreciated. She and Floyd also volunteered in Guam for a short time.

Elsie B. Price, 92, of Lebanon, Indiana, passed away January 17. She was the widow of Ralph S. Price, a minister in the Church of the Nazarene who served in . Ralph S. Price passed away in .

James C. Pults of Olympia, Washington, passed away January 25. He was a retired minister in the Church of the Nazarene, serving in Oklahoma, North Carolina, Texas, and Washington. He is survived by his wife, Ora L. Pults.

John J. Ramsey of Palmdale, California, passed away January 18. He was a retired minister in the Church of the Nazarene, serving in California. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Ramsey, who passed away in 1997.

Ilene Smarekar of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away January 28. She was a retired proof reader at Nazarene Publishing House.

Joe Dean White of Las Cruces, New Mexico, passed away July 28. White was a minister in the Church of the Nazarene, serving on the Tennessee District.

Robert F. Williams of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, passed away November 23. He was a retired minister in the Church of the Nazarene, serving in Pennsylvania (Pittsburgh District). He is survived by his wife, Patricia Williams.

J. D. Winstead, 89, of Pekin, Illinois, passed away January 22. He was a minister in the Church of the Nazarene, registered on the Northwest Illinois District. He was preceded in death by his wife, Verna D. Winstead, who passed away in 1994.
