"Because He Lives"
Port-au-Prince, Haiti
Friday, January 29, 2010
The Church of the Nazarene's Global Communications team is currently in Haiti recording stories of hope as they emerge for an upcoming video.
"I had no idea how powerful hope could be," a team member said after his experience on the night of January 28.
That night, an open-air worship service was being held at the Nazarene Bible College near Port-au-Prince. The service, held in relative darkness, was being led by students for 400 or more of their displaced neighbors seeking shelter on the college's campus.
"I don't speak Creole," the team member said, "but I understood their hearts perfectly and wept openly as, in their own language, I heard them singing the following message of hope in Jesus."
