The following is a weekly listing of Nazarene ministers and leaders who have recently gone home to be with the Lord. Notices were received from February 1-5, 2010.
Harold E. Adkisson, 82, of Bakersfield, California, passed away January 27. He was the husband of Kathryn (Johnson ) Adkisson, a retired missionary in the Church of the Nazarene who served in Swaziland and South Africa.
Margaret E. Christensen of Calgary, Alberta, passed away June 30. She was the widow of Dr. C. O. Christensen, a former minister in the Church of the Nazarene who was ordained on [what was] the Alberta District. Dr. C. O. Christensen passed away in 1992.
Telford J. Drigo of Boston, Massachusetts, passed away December 1. He was a retired minister in the Church of the Nazarene, formerly licensed on the New England District. He is survived by his wife, Theodora Drigo. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Medora (Wiltshire) Drigo.
Carlton A. Heyliger of East St. Louis, Illinois, passed away January 27. He was a retired minister in the Church of the Nazarene, serving in West Virginia and Illinois. He is survived by his wife, Elaine Heyliger.
Benjamin "Beni" Langa, 86, of Mozambique passed away January 25. He was a pastor and district superintendent in the Church of the Nazarene, serving in Mozambique, Africa. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Langa, who passed away in 1998. (Story)
Norris Roberts of East Flat Rock, North Carolina, passed away January 19. Roberts was a licensed minister in the Church of the Nazarene on the North Carolina District.
Ruth A. Sharpes, 72, of Springfield, Ohio, passed away January 30. She was the wife of Raymond A. Sharpes, pastor of the Springfield Maplewood Church of the Nazarene and Prime Time Ministries director for the Northwestern Ohio District. The Sharpes served in New York, Ontario, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.
Ross Dewey Stivison, 92, of Logan, Ohio, passed away January 23. He was a layperson in the Church of the Nazarene, serving as a Sunday School teacher, church board member, and treasurer for 39 years at the Logan Church of the Nazarene. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Forrest Pearl (Spencer) Stivison.
Roger H. Ward, 87, of Nashport, Ohio, passed away February 3. He was a retired minister in the Church of the Nazarene, serving in Indiana and Ohio. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn L. (Eppley) Ward. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Wilma (Austin) Ward, in 1978.
