Groundbreaking ceremony for Africa Central Field Conference and Training Centre
Africa Region
Thursday, February 4, 2010
On January 21 the Africa Central Field leadership team took a break from their field leadership conference to travel approximately 25 kilometers (15.5 miles) south of Lusaka, Zambia, to attend a special groundbreaking ceremony for the Africa Central Field Conference and Training Centre.
The centre will be located on a 20-acre Chipongwe Farm - church property donated by South African farmer J. W. Snyman in 1955 - and be the location for one of the first Nazarene churches in Zambia.
The centre will consist of several dormitory style buildings, a cafeteria, a multi-purpose hall, classrooms, and offices. A new water well was recently drilled and full construction on the multi-phase project will begin in 2010.
It will serve the countries of Malawi, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, and will host local, district, and field conferences, assemblies, and various training events for children, youth, and adults.
