The following first hand report was submitted by the Beulah Church of the Nazarene in Brooklyn, New York. According to the church's web site, the Beulah Church is a melting pot of many cultures, with members drawn from over 26 different countries. In fact, Beulah has the distinction of being the largest Nazarene congregation of African Americans (& West Indians) in North America and Canada. The report reads:
Miracle at Beulah

It was a typical Sunday morning filled with the anticipation of a baptismal service. The praise team was enthusiastically singing "It Was All Because Of God's Amazing Grace," one could sense a fresh wind blowing over Beulah Church of the Nazarene. The minister read from the Manual about the grace of Christian baptism as the congregation rose to greet those who were being baptized. We are truly grateful for the work that God has done in the lives of the new converts.

After the baptism, Pastor Wenton A. Fyne remarked about the conclusion of the 21 days of prayer and fasting and gave God thanks for the fruits of our labor.

Instantly the spirit of the Lord fell upon our pastor and he asked anyone who had their sins forgiven and needed a new cleansing to respond and approach the baptismal pool. One could truly sense the anointing in the room as a woman responded to the call, quickly followed by another, who told the story of her children being at home in a fire and how God had saved them. She had lost her husband to the fire, but gave God thanks for saving her children and for granting her the opportunity to be with them again.

Fyne began to pray for her and by that time, there was a line of people waiting to be baptized. People shared stories of how God had delivered them, some talked about how God had touched their lives, and others rededicated their lives to God.

There was a long line of people waiting in tears as they brought their cares and concerns to almighty God. We saw mothers, daughters, sons who had long wandered away from God, husbands, and wives rededicate themselves to God. Little children in tears confessed their love for God and thanked him for their successes in school. They also asked Him for blessings on their mothers and fathers.

A call was made for young people who wanted something more from God, and without hesitation they responded. They shared testimonies of how great God had been to them, some confessed their sins and their desire to follow God wholeheartedly. Others who had decided that the Christian life was no longer for them, returned and rededicated their lives to Christ.

At one point during the service, a young man walked in from the streets and asked one simple question, "What must I do to be baptized?" He was ushered to the waiting area where many were already patiently waiting in line to be baptized. He shared his testimony of losing his job because of a bad decision he had made and how he was now seeking forgiveness and restoration in his life.

This was indeed one of the most memorable moments of the service. There was an air of anticipation and expectancy as the congregation remained glued to theirs seats. God was definitely at work, and by the end of the service 60 people had been baptized.

Beulah Church of the Nazarene is in a revival and we are praying for God to continue to pour out His Spirit upon our church and our community.
