The following is a weekly listing of Nazarene ministers and leaders who have recently gone home to be with the Lord. Notices were received from March 8-12, 2010.
Marion J. Schenke, 88, of Annandale, Virginia, passed away March 3. She was a layperson in the Calvary Church of the Nazarene, serving as secretary of the church's leadership board for many decades. After completing her role as board secretary, she continued to serve as the church's sacraments coordinator. She was also involved in missions through Work & Witness and was Calvary's oldest and most tenured member with 64-years of active membership. A memorial service will be held at the church at 2 PM on March 13.
Larry V. Wright, 63, of Bloomington, California, passed away March 5. He was a former district superintendent for Southern California (1998-2000), a missionary to Zimbabwe, and a pastor in Johannesburg, South Africa. He also served as pastor in Florida and California.
Harry R. Westfall Jr. of Florence, Alabama, passed away February 13. He was a retired minister and educator in the Church of the Nazarene, serving in Indiana and Illinois. He is survived by his wife, Esther Westfall.
