GMC Flags of the Nations: Peru
Global Ministry Center
Monday, March 8, 2010
Since September 1, 2009, the Church of the Nazarene's Global
Ministry Center (GMC) proudly flies a flag each week of one of the many nations
in which the denomination is present in ministry. Leaders were invited
to send a national flag to be flown at the GMC alongside the flag of
the United States*. The national flags rotate weekly, and photos of
them raised are sent to the church leaders of that country.
This week: Peru
The Church of the Nazarene officially entered Peru in 1914.
Peru had a population of 29,180,899 in 2008. That same year, Peru reported 920 Churches of the Nazarene, 737 of which had been officially organized. Peru has 55,959 total members.
Peru has nine phase three districts and seven phase one districts. It is a part of the South America Region. For more information, visit samnaz.org.
