The following is a weekly listing of Nazarene ministers and leaders who have recently gone home to be with the Lord. Notices were received from April 12-16, 2010.
James R. Blankenship of Lubbock, Texas, passed away April 15. He was a retired minister in the Church of the Nazarene, serving as a pastor in Oklahoma, Texas, and Missouri and as district superintendent of Northwestern Ohio (1973-80) and San Antonio (now South Texas) (1980-2002). He is survived by is wife, Christine Blankenship. (Story)
Kirby Choate, 75, of Huntington, Texas, passed away April 11. He was a retired minister and evangelist in the Church of the Nazarene, serving in Oklahoma, Texas, Mississippi, and Arkansas. He is survived by his wife, Jannie F. (Weisinger) Choate.
Charles J. Michael Jr. of Texarkana, Texas, passed away April 8. He was a former minister in the Church of the Nazarene, serving in Illinois and Texas. He is survived by his wife, Iris G. Michael.
Donald G. Whitlock, 69, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away April 12. He was a retired minister and educator in the Church of the Nazarene, serving in Washington. He was also a professor of Christian education at Nazarene Theological Seminary. He is survived by his wife, Joanne Whitlock. (NTS story)
