NPH's VISION for life
Thursday, May 13, 2010
Kansas City, Missouri
For many years Nazarene Publishing House (NPH) has had the privilege of serving the Church of the Nazarene through a variety of services to strengthen the Body of Christ. However, NPH also has a vision to be a good neighbor and improve the lives of present and future residents of the greater Kansas City area. One of the ways NPH assists in improving the lives of future residents is through its support of The Women's Clinic of Kansas City.
Recently, on April 30, the compassionate ministry action team of NPH called the V.I.S.I.O.N (Volunteeers in Service In Our Neighborhood) Team held a baby shower for The Women's Clinic of Kansas City. This nearly annual event is designed to celebrate life that the clinic provides to those that seek its services in time of need. The clinic provides honest counseling and medical assistance in dealing with a wide variety of issues related to the decisions surrounding an unplanned pregnancy.
Items and cash donations provided by NPH employees as well as funds from the V.I.S.I.O.N Team were presented to clinic director Deborah Neal with great hope that each outfit, every diaper, and every toy could be used to supply the needs of a new mother or new parents and their baby. Estimated total gifts in kind and cash donation was about $3,000 (U.S. dollars). More importantly, the shower was a time to reaffirm NPH's role as a difference maker in Kansas City and the role of The Women's Clinic to shape young lives forever.
