Youth Ministry Academy update
Wednesday, October 20, 2010
Global Ministry Center
During the month of October, Youth Ministry Academy is looking at the importance of the Bible in youth ministry and how youth workers can help students apply its teachings to their lives.

Youth Ministry Academy is an online youth ministry resource that equips youth workers in practical ministry by responding to the needs of passionate, yet under-resourced youth workers through training, direction, and encouragement. It is the goal of Youth Ministry Academy to help local congregations bridge this gap and facilitate youth workers in their important ministry within the life of the church.

In addition, Youth Ministry Academy provides articles discussing current issues in youth ministry, news from youth ministry in global areas, and opportunities for continued education in youth ministry.

Highlighted articles:

Mark Maddix and Richard Thompson's article, "Scripture as Formation," shares the transformational role of Scripture in our faith. Maddix and Thompson revisit practices of Bible reading and study from our spiritual ancestors, the importance of community in Christian faith, and the potential for Bible study and reflection to truly shape individuals into the image of Christ.

Dave Jenkins also offers a Direction Bible study guide for teen groups that encourages students to listen to God's voice as they develop positive spiritual habits.
