This week's praise reports and prayer requests from Nazarene Missions International, JESUS Film Harvest Partners, and NCN News include:

JESUS Film - Guatemala
"I was a drug dealer," said Luis in Guatemala. "I praise God and thank the brothers from the church for bringing the Magdalena JESUS Film to us. I accepted the Lord into my heart and I want to serve Him now. We have started meeting each week in my home for Bible study."

JESUS Film - Pakistan
"I prayed for Jesus to make me humble," said 40 year old Ghorre in Pakistan. "I ignored other people's feelings and would easily fight with others even over little things. My family members were fed up with me. One day, the JESUS Film came to our village. I thought the film was a joke. As I watched, I was impressed by the meekness of Jesus. He bears all sin even of the people who made Him suffer. In that instant, I prayed for Jesus to make me humble that I might not fight with others. Now when I get angry, I remember the JESUS Film and it helps me to calm down as I remember the behavior of Jesus with others. I am thankful to God who granted me an opportunity to change myself through the JESUS Film."

We praise God for Luis, a new believer in Peru who has discovered the joy of forgiveness for his previous involvement with terrorism. He found Christ after a series of visits from Extreme Nazarene Ministries church planters. Pray that his new faith will mature and strengthen. Also, pray for God's continued blessing on Extreme Nazarene Ministries. Read Luis' story on Engage Magazine by clicking here.

Orphanage Water Well
Thank you for praying for the children who live at an orphanage in an area on the Asia-Pacific Region last week and who became ill due to contaminated water in their well. Continue to keep the children in your prayers as they recover. God has begun answering the need for a new/non-contaminated water at the orphanage through a church on the region that has raised $2,000 towards the need. Praise the Lord for His provision!

Challenge 2010, WEF-PLUS Thanksgiving Offering
The Board of General Superintendents has announced that the 2010 Thanksgiving Offering theme will be Challenge 2010 and will feature a World Evangelism Fund (WEF) PLUS offering in addition to the regular Thanksgiving WEF Offering. The WEF PLUS offering will provide immediate funding to Nazarene mission fields globally. Pray for each person who considers participating in the offering. For more information, see

Cholera Outbreak in Haiti
Pray for people in Haiti who are being affected by a severe cholera outbreak. As of this writing, more than 138 people have died and another 1,526 cases have been reported. According to CNN, the outbreak is in the Lower Artibonite region, which is north of the capital city of Port-au-Prince. Pray for the families and friends of those who are sick or have lost loved ones.

Papua New Guinea Hospital
Pray for the patients and staff at the Kudjip Nazarene hospital in Papua New Guinea. The hospital has been experiencing power surges and power outages causing disruption in care. Pray also that God will supply all that is needed so their hydroelectric dam can be rebuilt.

Southern Africa Nazarene University Launch
Pray for the launch of Southern Africa Nazarene University in Manzini, Swaziland, on October 22, and for all those who will take in this important and exciting event.

Typhoon Megi
Asia - Pray for people who have been affected by Typhoon Megi, which swept into Taiwan on October 22 after striking the Philippines. The typhoon triggered rockslides that trapped hundreds of people in northeast Taiwan, and killed at least 20 people in the Philippines (No injuries or damage to Nazarene properties were reported). Pray for safety for all those who are in the path of this storm.
