According to Global Treasury Service estimates, if every church in the U.S. chose to go paperless, $1,200 per month would be freed up for use in other vital areas of ministry. This would equal up to $14,400 dollars per year that could be used to directly further the Nazarene mission of making Christlike disciples.
Currently mailed to every U.S. church on a monthly basis, these church giving summaries will now be available via the Funding the Mission application (visible after logging in here).
“The Funding the Mission application has been available to every church in the U.S. for two years, allowing churches to view giving goals, make online contributions, view their transaction history, and more,” said Marilyn McCool, general treasurer. “It’s the perfect vehicle for delivering paperless statements, and we are so pleased to be able to offer increased ease-of-access to financial data.”
Here’s how it will work:
- Churches that choose to go paperless will receive a monthly email notifying them that the statement is ready for download from Funding the Mission.
- Churches that do not wish to opt-in will experience no change in service; paper statements will continue to be mailed to these churches monthly.
- Additionally, an archive of statements will be available on the Funding the Mission application for on-demand download.
Authorized church staff members who wish to be added as users on Funding the Mission may contact Stewardship Ministries at email@example.com. Provide the name of the district, the church, a personal email address, and a full name in the message.
Instructions for activating paperless statements may be downloaded here or by request from Stewardship Ministries. All churches are encouraged to try this service.
“The faithful giving of our Nazarene churches is the life-line that enables the mission of the Church of the Nazarene to ‘Make Christlike Disciples in the Nations’ and to carry the good news to those who have not heard,” McCool said. “Making the financial business of ministry more convenient is just one way we can say thank you for your generosity and love for your church.”
