Regional general assembly coordinators begin orientation, preparation
Wednesday, June 20, 2012
Global Ministry Center
Regional General Assembly coordinators met at the Church of the Nazarene's Global Ministry Center last week for orientation. The RGAC's are just some of the many people involved in making the necessary preparations for the 2013 General Assembly and Conventions in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Each of the denomination's global region selects individuals who serve as coordinators. One of their first duties is to collect the election forms and input into a database a myriad of details about delegates and alternates elected for the conventions and assembly.
The RGACs also assist with visas, hotel reservations, and travel details for delegates coming to the U.S. from other countries. While on site at the event, these coordinators will be involved in ground transportation details, registering delegates, lodging assistance, and being available to assist guests as needed.
From June 13 to 14, the General Secretary’s Office and General Assembly Arrangements Staff hosted the RGACs, providing them information on delegate housing, financial support, immigration matters, and the delegate information database.
Event coordinators for the 2013 General Assembly and the Nazarene Missions International, Nazarene Youth International, International Higher Education Council, and Sunday School and Discipleship Ministries International conventions were also included in the orientation. Discussions included appropriate menu items, food service, delegate orientation, translation, and on-site registration.
The arrangements staff expressed gratitude for these coordinators, who are now part of the GA 2013 team.
