Georgia District Camp Meeting features family speaking trio

Adrian, Georgia
The Georgia District Camp Meeting began on July 10, and while the event is a tradition, there has never been an opening night like this year’s.

Brian Arner was the song evangelist, leading the music for services, but the preaching team is what was so unusual about this year’s camp. Moody, Nina, and Dwight Gunter will be the three preaching evangelists. The was the first time the father, mother, and son spoke together at the same event.

“This is a first for us, and it should be exciting!” Nina Gunter, general superintendent emeritus, said prior to the event.

The Gunters' son, Dwight, is the pastor of Trevecca Community Church of the Nazarene, located on the campus of Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee. Moody Gunter is the former district superintendent of the South Carolina and North Florida districts. Additionally, Moody Gunter served as the finance director at Nazarene International Headquarters in Kansas City, Missouri.

The Gunters are well known in the Southeast," said Roy Rogers, Georgia district superintendent. "Dr. Nina and Dr. Moody Gunter have been favorite speakers of Georgia Nazarenes across the years and to have their son, Rev. Dwight Gunter, Trevecca Community Church pastor, join them for this special week is a privilege. We are excited at what we feel that God has in store for our camp meeting with this great team of workers."

The Georgia district campgrounds are located in Adrian, near Dublin, Georgia.
