Beacon Hill Press of Kansas City, an imprint of Nazarene Publishing House, released Anticipate: An Advent Experience for use during Advent 2012. This release comes as a follow-up to the well-received Illuminate: An Advent Experience in 2011.

Anticipate is a 4-week experience for faith communities that use the Jesse Tree to highlight the story of God from Old Testament to the arrival of the Promised One, and as it continues today with believers' anticipation of His return.

"In recent time, the Jesse Tree has become a family devotional practice during the Advent season to learn God’s story," writes Paul Sheneman, the devotional writer for Anticipate. "The daily practice includes the hanging of an ornament that depicts a scene or symbol associated with the reading of a story from Scripture. The stories cover the various episodes of the Bible from creation to the birth of Jesus. The practice is a way for Christians to learn the story of God and learn the importance of Jesus within God’s redemptive history."

The Anticipate devotional book is a guide for families and individuals to use daily as they spend time together with God. Readers will explore one of the 25 symbols of the Jesse Tree each day of the Advent season, which begins on December 2.

A Church Planning Kit is also available to assist churches in planning the entire Advent experience.

Anticipate: An Advent Experience is available for purchase at beaconhillbooks.com or by contacting Nazarene Publishing House at 1-800-877-0700.
