NNU receives $50,000 grant from Brandt Foundation

Nampa, Idaho
Northwest Nazarene University was awarded a $50,000 grant from the John H. & Orah I. Brandt Foundation. A total of $520,000 was donated to 16 local organizations and presented by Brandt Foundation Board Member Jerry Hess.
Since the Brandt Foundation began distributing funds in 2000, they have given more than $3.1 million to local organizations engaged in primary and secondary education, economic education, charity, faith, and hope.
"A long-time partner to the university, the Brandt Foundation’s generous contributions will support both student scholarships and the construction of the Learning Commons," said David Alexander, NNU president. "We are extremely grateful for their commitment to the mission of NNU."
The Brandt Foundation is committed to actively supporting private and public education and other community endeavors.
John and Orah Brandt were community leaders in Idaho's Treasure Valley throughout their lives. Known for honesty, humility, and integrity, they actively supported private and public education. The Brandts possessed an abiding Christian faith and believed in individual liberty, individual responsibility, and the U.S. capitalist system. They worked tirelessly to help achieve worthwhile community endeavors contributing both financially and with their time and effort.
