Mount Vernon Nazarene University (MVNU) is pleased to announce Bob Roller as the new dean of the Jetter School of Business. His responsibilities begin immediately.

Roller most recently served as president of the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE), a premier business accreditor for student-centered colleges and universities. In this position, Roller interacted with more than 230 member institutions in 20 countries around the world.

"Dr. Roller brings wide experience to the role of dean, including a wealth of knowledge in both traditional and non-traditional academic delivery systems," said Henry Spaulding, vice president for Academic Affairs. "He comes to Mount Vernon at a crucial time and his guidance will be an important component for the future of the Jetter School of Business."

Major tasks Roller is charged with as dean include overseeing all functions of business faculty and department chairs, leading the school in strategic planning, coordinating curriculum in the traditional and nontraditional business programs, serving on the Academic Leadership Team, and recommending and directing academic policies for the school.

"MVNU is an excellent university with an accomplished past and exciting future," said Roller. "I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to provide leadership to the Jetter School of Business and to serve its outstanding faculty, staff, and students."

Prior to his work with IACBE, Roller taught business courses at the traditional undergraduate, adult, and graduate levels at several institutions, including Oral Roberts University (Oklahoma), Kennesaw State University (Georgia), and LeTourneau University (Texas). Taking on a variety of key positions, he provided strategic leadership to these universities in their departments or schools of business, including a term as dean at LeTourneau.

Some of his accomplishments include leading accreditation processes with IACBE and the Association of Collegiate Business School Programs (ACBSP), development of master's programs in management and health care administration, directing a Small Business Institute, and redesigning an entire school with new majors and specialization areas. He is a recipient of the Richard C. Chewning Award for Biblical Integration in Business, awarded by the Christian Business Faculty Association.

Roller earned a bachelor of science in business administration and theology, and a master of business administration from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He received his doctor of philosophy from Oklahoma State University in strategic management and organization theory.
