The
National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) in the USA, an organization in which the Church of the Nazarene holds membership, recently issued a
statement on immigration supported by our denomination.
Any statement to which the church would subscribe must reflect our commitment to the authority of Scripture, the Articles of Faith, the Wesleyan Holiness theological perspective, and our Core Values. We believe this statement issued by the NAE meets these criteria.
The Church of the Nazarene does not see this as a call for amnesty and therefore felt comfortable supporting the NAE statement.
Our response to the needs of humankind is to show the love and compassion of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, while abiding by the laws of each country where the Church of the Nazarene engages in ministry.
-Dr. David P. Wilson, General Secretary, Church of the Nazarene
