Olivet receives 4th CCAC All-Sports Cup

This week, Olivet Nazarene University’s Tigers received the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) All-Sports Cup for the third consecutive year. To earn this award, Tiger teams finished first or second in 11 of 14 conference sports during the regular season and won two league tournament championships.
With a total of 116 points — the CCAC’s highest total ever recorded — Olivet captured regular-season CCAC titles outright in softball, women’s cross country, men’s tennis, men’s and women’s track and field, and women’s basketball on the Division I side, while sharing titles in women’s soccer and volleyball.
The Tigers placed second in baseball, men’s cross country, women’s tennis, and men’s basketball in Division I. They also captured CCAC tournament crowns in softball, women’s soccer, and men’s tennis.
“Our Tiger athletes look like, act like, play like, talk like champions,” said Gary Newsome, athletic director. “They show athletic prowess, know how to think, are strong academically, and play for a higher purpose than their own glory. They see beyond themselves, both on and off the field of play. We are all very proud of how our athletes represent the name of Christ.”
The CCAC All-Sports Cup is awarded to the institution that earns the most total points in the conference's 14 sports (men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer, volleyball, men's and women's basketball, men’s golf, men’s and women’s tennis, men’s and women’s track and field, baseball and softball) on an annual basis. Schools are awarded points based on their conference finish in each of those sports. An additional point is awarded to any school that claims a conference tournament title.
