General Assembly IDEA Fund update

As was announced in February, the Church of the Nazarene has created the International Delegate Expense Aid (IDEA) Fund to provide financial assistance for world area delegates who incur such great financial costs to be a part of the global celebration. The news of this fund is spreading and donations are already being received. (Video) read more

Daily dinners feed bodies, souls in Ukraine
|
Each day after school, children and youth in Zaporozhe, Ukraine, head over to the local Nazarene church to share a warm meal. Since the program began in October 2008, approximately 18 participants have begun to regularly join these meals. The program is a result of a partnership between the Zaporozhe church and the Susanville, California, Church of the Nazarene. read more

Diehl ordains new record as leadership blossoms in Eurasia
As jurisdictional general superintendent for the Eurasia Region, James H. Diehl recently traveled to the oldest mission area in the Church of the Nazarene, India, and conducted historic firsts in Nepal and Bangladesh, some of the newer areas of Nazarene work. In all, he observed that leadership is increasing - especially in Nepal - and new churches and converts are being established in challenging, but growing areas. read more
Warrick reports growth and need in South American areas
J.K. Warrick, jurisdictional general superintendent for the South America Region, reports church growth in Peru and Brazil is yielding new Nazarenes and large congregations while efforts are being made to reach areas where people have yet to hear the gospel. read more
Africa welcomes Anderson as new regional communications coordinator
Having served for two years on the Caribbean Region, Phil Anderson and his family arrived in Johannesburg, South Africa, earlier this year to begin their new assignment. Anderson's desire for World Mission Broadcast in Africa is for the message of Christ to be heard through radio in more culturally, socially, and spiritually relevant means. read more
Ukraine baptizes 33 across generations
Recently 33 people received both baptism and membership into one of several Vinnitsa, Ukraine, area churches. Approximately half of those receiving baptism had participated in the district's drug and alcohol rehabilitation program and were able to share their story with those gathered. (Slideshow) read more
Dutch youth radio explores life, faith
At the age of 17, Bart Snijders is already doing what he loves. For two years, he has hosted Let's Talk, a bi-monthly radio program for teenagers in his hometown of Veenendaal, Netherlands, where he is also a part of the local Nazarene church. read more

Retired Upstate New York D.S. passes away
George Teague passed away March 8 in Syracuse, New York. A graduate of ENC and NTS, Teague pastored churches in the Northeast before serving as superintendent of the Upstate New York District for 11 years. read more
Wesleyan Theological Society considers Christology
Wesleyan Theological Society scholars met in early March at Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana, to explore issues in Christology. In addition, a number of awards were presented at the 2009 event. (Slideshow) read more

SNU Equestrian team wins Western Show #2 at the Western Intercollegiate Horse show
The Southern Nazarene University Western Equestrian team finished first place in the afternoon show on Saturday, March 7, at Texas Tech University in Lubbock. SNU finished ahead of second place, West Texas A&M, and third place, Texas Tech, as well as the University of Oklahoma. read more
