Oil spill is "more than a news item" for Gulf Coast Nazarenes

The 2010 Gulf of Mexico oil spill is considered the worst marine oil spill in global history and among the worst ecological disasters ever. As has been widely reported, working residents of the southern U.S.'s Gulf Coast are among the many victims. Mitchell L. Powell serves as senior pastor of the Mobile, Alabama, First Church of the Nazarene, which is part of the Alabama South District and rooted in the affected area. MNU counseling programs achieve CACREP accreditation
MidAmerica Nazarene University's counseling programs for clinical mental health, school, marriage, and couple and family counseling leading to the master of arts degree have been approved for accreditation by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs. MNU holds the distinction of being the only faith-based private institution in its region - Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, and Oklahoma - to achieve this level of accreditation in counseling. read more
